EAT @ PEET Food Festival 2025
On June 3, 2025, the Dyuthi College Union transformed the Peet Memorial Training College campus into a culinary hub with the "EAT @ PEET" Food Festival. The event kicked off at 1:30 pm with a welcome address by the Staff Advisor, Dr. Sony Mary Varghese, followed by a presidential speech from the Principal, Dr. Alie Molly Verghis.
The festival was officially inaugurated by Mr. Jacob C. John, Headmaster of Bishop Hodges Higher Secondary School, who performed a ceremonial cake cutting. The event also served as a warm welcome for a new guest lecturer, who was introduced to the college community during the opening session.
Culinary Highlights and Competitions
The festival featured a diverse array of dishes organized into six distinct categories:
Kerala Snacks & Fried Delicacies
Main Courses
Desserts & Cakes
Traditional Pickles
A popular highlight was the "Thattukada" (street-side eatery stall), which served freshly made tea, coffee, omelets, and noodles. Beyond the displays, a sales counter allowed attendees to purchase their favorite items, and a lively food auction was held. Dr. Velayudhan T. Nair successfully bid ₹500 for a featured item, adding an element of fun and fundraising to the afternoon.
Following a thorough evaluation by a panel of judges, several student-teachers were recognized for their exceptional culinary skills across the various categories. The festival concluded as a vibrant celebration of taste and teamwork.
