'Oru Pothi Sneham' Food Drive: Hunger-Free Mavelikara Campaign

On March 24, 2025, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Peet Memorial Training College conducted the 'Oru Pothi Sneham' (A Packet of Love) food drive. This initiative was organized in collaboration with the 'Vishappu Rahitha Mavelikara' (Hunger-Free Mavelikara) campaign to support the underprivileged in the local community.

The drive began at 10:00 am as NSS volunteers prepared and brought homemade lunch packets (Pothichors). The formal college session commenced at 12:00 pm with the NSS prayer song, followed by a welcome address from the NSS Volunteer Secretary, Ms. Arya A.R. The program was presided over by Dr. Mumtas S., the NSS Programme Officer.

Principal Dr. Alie Molly Verghis officially inaugurated the drive by symbolically handing over a food packet to batch representative Mr. Joyal Joseph. Following the ceremony, a group of NSS representatives traveled to the primary collection point of the Hunger-Free Mavelikara campaign near the Mavelikara KSRTC Bus Stand.

In total, the volunteers collected and contributed 48 lunch packets. By 1:00 pm, these meals were distributed to individuals in need throughout the area. The successful community service initiative concluded at 1:15 pm.
