NSS Free Medical Camp 2024

On October 18, 2024, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Peet Memorial Training College organized a comprehensive Free Medical Camp in the college auditorium. This community health initiative was held in collaboration with St. Thomas Mission Hospital, Kattanom, and the St. Thomas Karkithos Cancer Centre. Presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Sony Mary Varghese, the event was officially inaugurated by Shri K.V. Sreekumar, Chairman of the Mavelikara Municipality. The session also featured a keynote address by Mrs. Santhi Ajayan, the Ward Councilor and Health Standing Committee Chairperson, alongside felicitations from staff representative Mr. Biju David and other dignitaries.

The camp served as a vital educational and diagnostic platform, where medical professionals provided students with detailed guidelines on recognizing the early symptoms of various types of cancer. The event saw significant public participation, with many attendees taking advantage of the specialized services offered, particularly the free eye examinations and cancer screening modules. Through this collaborative effort, the college successfully extended essential healthcare resources and awareness to both the student body and the local community.
