NSS DAY Celebration & Orientation Programme

On September 24, 2024, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Peet Memorial Training College commemorated NSS Day with a series of impactful events held at the College Auditorium. The celebrations commenced at 10:00 AM with an inaugural address by Dr. Azser R.N., the State NSS Officer of the Kerala State NSS Cell. In his speech, Dr. Azser emphasized the vital role responsible volunteers play in nation-building, specifically highlighting how student-teachers can integrate the spirit of service into their professional lives. The session was presided over by the college Principal, Dr. Alie Molly Verghis, with additional remarks provided by Shri. Poulouse Koshy, Vice President of the Alumni Association. The formal proceedings were facilitated by Dr. Mumthas S., the NSS Programme Officer, who welcomed the gathering, and Ms. Arya A.R., who concluded the morning session with a vote of thanks at 11:20 AM.

Following the inaugural ceremony, an Orientation Programme for first-year volunteers began at 11:30 AM, once again led by Dr. Azser R.N. This interactive session focused on fostering social commitment and navigating the time constraints of student life while remaining active in service. Dr. Azser suggested a variety of practical initiatives—ranging from environmental protection and health-oriented projects to school and campus-based activities—urging the volunteers to implement creative projects that could serve as models for the wider community. The orientation concluded at 1:30 PM after Mr. Joyal Joseph shared feedback on the session and Ms. Sethulekshmi offered a final vote of thanks. To mark the end of the day's events, Dr. Allie Molly Verghis presented a memento to Dr. Azser as a token of gratitude from the college and the NSS unit.
