Handover of Newspaper and Comic Book Subscriptions to AOMLP School, Mavelikara
On August 5, 2024, the NSS Unit and Extension Cell of Peet Memorial Training College (PMTC), Mavelikara, demonstrated their commitment to community service by establishing a reading corner at AOMM LPS, Mavelikara. This collaborative initiative, meticulously planned by NSS volunteers, focused on providing the school with regular subscriptions to both newspapers and comic books to encourage literacy. The event was officially inaugurated by the guest of honor, Shri. Varghese Pothen, who opened the reading corner and captivated the young audience with an interactive and lively Q&A session.
The program began at 10:30 AM with a prayer song performed by the schoolchildren, followed by a blessing from Rev. C.I. Jose. Following a warm welcome from Senior Assistant Mrs. Ruth George Isaac and an address by the Headmistress, Mrs. Beena A., the formal handover of subscriptions took place. Dr. Mumthas S., NSS Coordinator, presented the newspaper subscriptions, while Dr. Elizabeth Joshua, Extension Cell Coordinator, managed the comic book contributions. The session concluded with benedictions from Principal Dr. Alie Molly Verghis and Bursar Rev. C.I. Jose, and a final vote of thanks delivered by PMTC Library Secretary Sri. Sangeeth S. Mini. The event was well-attended by faculty and first-year B.Ed. students, marking a successful day of community outreach.
